Libertyville recap

Saturday, September 18 2021 - Levynn Chambers

Another meet at Libertyville’s notoriously difficult course at Adler Park is in the books.

Running in her first Bill Dortch-Harry Carlson Invitational, sophomore Lena Almer finished 20th overall to pace Jones to fifth place among 10 teams in the varsity race.

Almer finished in 20:48.0 and was followed by sophomore Selma Taylor in 21:23.1. Juniors Hastings BaCote (21:32.0), Eva Kay Papadopoulos (21:50.2) and Kat Menjivar (22:11.4) also scored for Jones.

In the junior varsity race, junior Elizabeth Quansah was 10th in 23:23.0, junior Mia Martinez was 13th in 23:56.9 and senior Yoselyn Waterhouse was 17th in 24:09.8 as Jones finished a strong third among 13 teams.

Freshmen Amelie Lynde (24:52.4) and Madeline Ogilvie (25:04.1) finished back-to-back in the freshman/sophomore race to lead Jones, which was seventh among nine teams.

And a special shoutout to all the non-racers for being such great supporters. Thank you!
